Welcome to The Thistle and Rose, a site dedicated mostly to Tudor and Elizabethan period clothing. While I am in the process of building the site, there will not be too many pages to navigate around.  Finding the words; “This Page is Under Construction” or “Page not Found” is very aggravating and a great reason to leave a site so pages will be limited to what I have on hand. Therefore, there will not be a link to a page with nothing in it. If I have inadvertently done that, please PLEASE let me know!  Contact Us

Some of the first costumes listed will be used children’s costumes. As money is tight in this economy, a decent used costume really isn’t such a bad idea especially since our little ones have the audacity to keep growing out of their costumes. I have quite a few new peasant skirts as well, so stay tuned!

I will also be taking on custom orders on a first-come, first served basis. I am presently costuming Oklahoma! for the local High School, so I won’t be available for a couple of months.

Feel free to contact me to make arrangements. I will make you a costume that will turn heads at the Faire.

BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!

There are some people out there who are pumping out cheap, cheesy Ren Faire costumes to the unsuspecting buyer. They are flooding the eBay market and putting real costumers out of business with Halloween Outlet quality stuff. Remember, you get what you pay for a”Faire Legal” means, we will be able to spot you a mile away. At least when you eventually realize you have been taken by unscrupulous foreign imitator importers, at least you will not have been completely ripped off. Peasant clothing isn’t horribly expensive, but Nobility costumes are pricey. Period. If you’re paying under $200.00 for a nobility outfit, you’re probably getting ripped off.

My Heartfelt Apologies

The purpose of this site has changed a couple of times. It was originally meant as an historical costuming site catering to Tudor and Elizabethan period clothing and it morphed into a living green health site. A second site has been created to carry on this purpose called www.quakies.com and the blog site, www.quakiesblog.com The Thistle and Rose is now being revamped back into the site it was originally created for. I apologize in advance for any aggravation this change causes.

A Bit of Trumpet Fanfare Please….

I am proud to announce that I have been given permission to promote Allyson Williams’ novel, “Dispassionate.” It’s the perfect companion for those often fleeting, cherished moments of quiet at home, complimented by Scented Soy Candles and coco, tea or coffee on a rainy afternoon.
